Dr. Adriano Guarnieri
Ophthalmologist, Head of Research Unit
Dr Guarnieri studied medicine in Argentina and then moved to Spain to train in ophthalmology and ophthalmic surgery. He studied at the University of Salamanca and the University of Navarra where he obtained a PhD. He has participated in several international clinical studies and has led a multifunctional and multicultural research group.
He specializes in ocular surface, cornea and cataract surgery. He has also overseen clinical research at Swiss Eye since 2019, drawing on his experience in basic and clinical research in glaucoma, ocular surface, regenerative medicine, cell therapy and intraocular lenses.
